Visiting Egypt is an adventure which I invite you to enjoy through photographs and text. We begin our tour in Cairo with a visit to the Mosque of Mohammad Ali and the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, before proceeding to the Pharaonic Village, a theme park in Cairo which reproduces life from Pharaonic times. Photography is no longer allowed inside the Egyptian Museum however you may visit the museum's website for information and photographs. There is an excellent photograph collection of exhibits in the Egyptian Museum at the Egypt Archives where you can also find photographs of Egyptian antiquities in the British Museum, the Ashmolean Museum, the Petrie Museum, and the Louvre.

Next we move on to Memphis, Saqqara and the Pyramids at Giza. Then we journey to the far south of Egypt to visit its southernmost city, Aswan. While there we will see the Nubian Museum, take a felluca ride, and visit the Temples of Abu Simbel, Philae and Kalabsha.

Our journey then takes us down the Nile to the temples at Kom Ombo and Edfu. To reach Luxor we pass through the locks at Esna and reach the city, which in ancient times was called Thebes. Here we visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Tombs of the Nobles, the Workmen's Village, Luxor Temple, and the Temples at Karnak, the Ramasseum, Medinat Habu.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by Pharaonic Egypt, its then time to visit the Sinai and explore its canyons, the Bedouin way of life and the Red Sea. To top off our journey, we then visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine’s and climb Mount Sinai.

As we travel together you will also see the earth from above through photographs from the Image Analysis Laboratory at the NASA Johnson Space Center. This gives us a new perspective on our visit to an ancient land.

Visitar Egipto es una aventura la cual lo invito a disfrutar mediante fotografías y texto. Comenzamos nuestro tour en Cairo con una visita a La Mezquita de Mohammed Ali y La Mezquita de Sultan Hassan, antes de proseguir a la Aldea Faraónica, un parque temático en Cairo donde se reproduce la vida de tiempos Faraónicos. Dentro del Museo Egipcio no esta permitido tomar fotografías, sin embargo, pueden visitar el sitio web del museo para obtener información y ver varias fotografías. En los Archivos Egipcios existe una excelente colección de fotografías de las exhibiciones del Museo Egipcio, además se pueden encontrar fotografías de antigüedades egipcias encontradas en el Museo Britanico, el Museo Ashmolean, el Museo Petrie, y el Louvre.

A continuación nos movemos hacia Memphis, Saqqara, y las pirámides en Giza. Luego viajamos hacia el sur de Egipto para visitar su ciudad más extremamente al sur, Asuán. Mientras nos encontremos ahí veremos el Museo de Nubia, viajaremos en una falúa, y visitaremos los templos de Abu Simbel, File y Kalabsha.

Después de eso nuestro viaje nos llevara por el Nilo a los templos de Kom Ombo y Edfu. Para llegar a Luxor pasaremos a través del candado de Esna y arribaremos a la ciudad, que en los tiempos antiguos era conocida como Tebas. Aquí visitaremos el Valle de los Reyes, el Valle de las Reinas, las Tumbas de los Nobles, la Aldea de los Trabajadores, el Templo de Luxor, y los templos en Karnak, el Ramasseum, y en Medinat Habu.

Sintiéndonos algo agobiados por el Egipto Faraónico, es tiempo para visitar el Sinai y explorar sus cañones, el estilo de vida Bedouin, y el Mar Rojo. Para redondear el viaje, visitaremos el Monasterio de Santa Catarina y escalaremos el Monte Sinai.

Mientras viajamos juntos también verán la tierra vista desde los cielos mediante fotografías provenientes del Laboratorio de Análisis de Imágenes del Centro Espacial Johnson de la NASA. Esto nos da una nueva perspectiva en nuestro viaje a una tierra antigua.
